Sugar Free-zies Day 2021
Partnering to raise $592,000 for schools and sports clubs
On November 26th 2021, we launched our inaugural Sugar Freezies Day - the largest icy-pole led donation in Australia’s history, providing schools and sports clubs with an event to raise much needed funds.
Almost 600,000 Sugar FREE-zies Icy Stix were donated to over 1100 schools and clubs to assist with fundraising efforts.
Schools and organisations were then able to run their own Sugar FREE-zies day to raise funds for a cause of their choice with many schools and clubs supporting initiatives such as the upgrade of school playgrounds; the purchase of new sports equipment, upgrades to classroom resources and teaching aides, graduation celebrations, school gardens and to support disadvantaged members of their communities.
Sugar FREE-zies day was a massive success for our school community. The kids loved the Icy Stix, the parents loved that their children weren't consuming unnecessary sugar, and our school community loved that it raised over $750 that helped fund new laptops for classrooms that needed them.

Sugar Freezies Icy Stix Day is another innovative campaign to engage young children about their healthier choices and to provide a fundraising platform to raise money for their school and sports community.

“We were super excited for Sugar Freezies Icy Stix Day providing a great and healthy way to cool off during the summer… All whilst raising money for new Nipper Boards".

"The Little School Preschool is a small, non for profit, community based pre-school. As a non-profit, fundraising is a major part of keeping our small preschool financially viable. Covid has had a massive impact on our ability to do this- that is why we were so grateful to receive the opportunity to participate in the No Nasties Project Sugar Freezies Day!"
"Each child (aged 3-6) created a canvas artwork during their preschool days, which was then put on display for the children, their families and the community. We decided to sell the ice stix at our BBQ. The Icy Stix were a hit with the kids and the parents were impressed with the nutritional information we provided about them and the No Nasties Project. Several children came back several times to try different flavours- despite the fact it was freezing and wet! Some families even purchased extras to take home for the holidays."
"This money is going to be used to buy resources and fun activities for our students' last week of school. It has been a hard year and we want to celebrate with our kids, especially for those that are graduating and transitioning to pre-school. Thank you again to the No Nasties Project for giving us this opportunity!"
